Mist (Minimally Invasive Spine Treatment)

Pain Care Boise

MIST’s now done at Pain Care Boise are a new option for patients dealing with Spinal Stenosis(SS) symptoms. SS is a narrowing of the spinal canal, foramen or the subarticular recess. SS can cause Neurogenic Claudication or pain, tingling, numbness, weakness of the legs and/or back. These symptoms are typically worse with standing or walking and relieved after sitting for a bit. Traditionally a laminectomy (removing the back part of your vertebra) or a fusion is required. These surgeries are an open invasive procedure requiring a hospital stay and a general anesthetic.

Our MIST procedures are done in our state-of-the-art AAAHC/Medicare certified outpatient ambulatory surgery center. They do not require a general anesthetic. They have minimal blood loss and less postoperative pain. You go home the same day! On the following pages learn more:

VERTIFLEX- For SS Without Significant Instability.

MINUTEMAN- Includes A Fusion For SS With Minor Instability.

MILD- For SS Due To LFH(Ligamentum Flavum Hypertrophy).
