William G. Binegar, MD

As an avid mountain biker, ski and snow boarder, windsurfer, kite boarder (and just about any other activity known to snow or surf), Dr. Binegar realizes that the ability to pursue an active lifestyle is a gift. He knows that being inactive due to chronic pain can be both frustrating and debilitating for patients. It is for that reason Dr. Binegar has devoted his professional life to Pain Management and the goal of helping patients eliminate chronic pain and get on with their lives.

Dr. Binegar attended undergraduate school at the University of North Dakota in Grand Forks, ND. He earned his medical degree at the University of North Dakota Medical School. His internship was conducted at Sioux Valley Hospital in Sioux Falls, SD. Dr. Binegar completed his Residency at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN.

In 2003, Dr. Binegar founded Pain Care Boise, a clinic A.A.A.H.C. certified outpatient ambulatory surgery center dedicated solely to the treatment of pain. Prior to his founding Pain Care Boise, Dr. Binegar was a senior staff Anesthesiologist at St. Alphonsus Regional Medical Center for over ten years. His professional memberships and affiliations include: The American Medical Association, Idaho Medical Association, American Pain Society, International Spine Intervention Society, International Association for the Study of Pain, and the American Society of Interventional Pain Physicians (and Idaho chapter).

His medical achievements and professional credentials aside, Dr. Binegar counts his wife Wendy and three children as his greatest passion in life. It's through his own family, and realizing the enjoyment they receive being active, that Dr. Binegar remains focused upon successful outcomes for all of his patients. It's an unrelenting commitment to explore every possibility to provide

Fred Friehl

Fred Friel, PA-C

As a small aircraft pilot, Fred Friel has flown to some pretty interesting locations around the West. A Boise-area native however, Fred has discovered that it is Idaho’s own backcountry beauty that offers some of the most interesting sites to explore. But whether it’s “dropping in” from the sky or driving for a day hike, Fred understands that being mobile is the key to his explorer’s passion. It is this appreciation of the human body’s function that has led Fred Friel to a career in healthcare and to Pain Care Boise.

Mr. Friel attended undergraduate school at Boise State University. He received his Certificate of Physician Assistant from the US Army Medical Department Center and School at Ft. Sam Houston, TX. His Bachelor of Science as a Physician Associate was earned from the University of Oklahoma in Norman, OK. And his Master of Physician Assistant Studies was attained at the University of Nebraska College of Medicine in Omaha, NE.

Mr. Friel was the Medical Company Commander, C Company, 145th Brigade Support Battalion, 116th Brigade Combat Team deployed to Kirkuk, Iraq Dec 2004-Nov 2005. Currently, he is the senior Physician Assistant in the Medical Detachment, Idaho Army National Guard.

His professional memberships include: the American Academy of Physician Assistants-Fellow and the Idaho Academy of Physician Assistants-Fellow. Certifications include: the National Commission on the Certification of Physician Assistants-Certified.

Beyond the flights around the west and travels to distant lands in the Middle East, Fred Friel maintains that it is time spent with his family that provides his greatest adventure. Appreciating the active lifestyle and good health that they enjoy keeps him focused upon pursuing the best of health outcomes for all of his patients. It’s an unrelenting commitment to explore every possibility to provide
